Currently at ep 364. mirrors all pictures, gifsets etc. people post on their tumblrs (and also other social media sites like twitter and instagram, if I understand it correctly).<br\/><br\/>An eample for a tumblr user, with my name:<br\/><br\/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.photosugar.com\/tu\/lordhellebore\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/www.photosugar.com\/tu\/lordhellebore<\/a><br\/><\/p>\n<p>Now it won\u2018t turn up anything but a 404 error in my case, because I sent an e-mail to the contact address, which is <b>darius@photosugar.com<\/b>\u00a0with the title \u201cMy content on your website\u201d:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Hello,<br\/><br\/>\nit\u2019s come to my attention that you are mirroring all of the posts containing\npictures\/gifs that I post on my tumblr.\u00a0I am asking you to stop pulling the content from my tumblr and to\ndelete me from your website.<br\/><br\/>\ntumblr username is \u201elordhellebore\u201c<br\/><br\/>\nThank you.<br\/><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I got a The posts, photos, text, and all, that you see on the website are directly from tumblr\u2019s servers, being accessed through tumblr\u2019s open api.\u00a0<\/p><p>So they\u2019re not being uploaded on some different mysterious server. Thus I\u2019m not quite sure you can really even consider it mirroring. It\u2019s more soooorta like how a news article embeds a tweet or youtube video directly into the article.<\/p><p><b>3 ) <\/b>Tumblr\u2019s api allows for your content to be accessed in a safe manner on tumblr\u2019s terms. <b>By this website using tumblr\u2019s api, they have to agree to the terms and conditions of tumblr\u2019s api, meaning they can\u2019t do anything malicious or they get locked out from using the\u00a0api.<\/b> And they dont seem to be doing anything to go against tumblr\u2019s api terms and conditions.<\/p><p><b>4 ) <\/b>By you having a tumblr account and agreeing to tumblr\u2019s terms, along with, well, posting stuff publicly on tumblr as you do, others can use tumblrs open api, and they can totally do stuff like this, there\u2019s nothing not consenting about this because well, you\u2019re giving your consent already.<\/p><p>Totally go ahead and remove whatever blogs you desire from the website if you want to. worry this is the only post like this that you\u2019ll ever see from me), but this was really annoying for me to figure out because Tumblr API and Jumblr are not well documented or explained, and I want poor struggling souls like me to be able to easily find the answer they need when they google search.<\/small><\/p><p><b>Question:<\/b> When grabbing posts from a blog with Tumblr API, they limit you to 20 posts per grab, and the posts grabbed are always the most recent 20 posts. So what if you want to grab and use more than just 20 posts? Or all of the posts, maybe even of a certain type,\u00a0from a blog?<\/p><p><b>Universal Solution: <\/b>Whether you\u2019re using java or not, the main method we are using is taking advantage of the offset parameter for grabbing posts. Knowing about parameters for grabbing posts is a necessity for this, so <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tumblr.com\/docs\/en\/api\/v2#posts\" target=\"_blank\">read up on it real quick here if you need to<\/a>. The offset parameter tells the API\u00a0which post to start\u00a0grabbing its 20 posts from. Using an\u00a0offset of 0, which is the default, will grab posts starting with the most recent post on the blog, meaning that it will grab the 20 most recent posts on the blog by default.\u00a0<\/p><p>So what you\u2019ll want to do is add an offset parameter to your post parameters, grab 20 posts from this offset, increment the offset by +20, and keep repeating this process until you have grabbed all of the posts, which is\u00a0<i>until the amount of posts you have grabbed is less than the offset.<\/i><\/p><p><b>Jumblr Solution:<\/b><\/p><pre>Map&lt;String, Object&gt; params = new HashMap&lt;String, Object&gt;();\n\n\/\/Insert any params you want here!\n\n\/\/Go to the tumblr api page for more info on different params you can \n\/\/grab posts by.
